Women with disabilities experience higher rates of domestic violence then any other groups of women. The National Coalition Against Domestic Violence states that abuse of women with disabilities may be as high as 85%. Physical and attitudinal barriers prevent women with disabilities and Deaf women from being able to access services. The New Jersey Coalition for Battered Women is committed to meeting the needs of survivors with disabilities and Deaf survivors through technical assistance and training. |
